ಜಾನಪದ ಸೊಗಡಿನ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಾಹಿತಿ, ಕವಿ, ನಾಟಕಕಾರ, ಸಂಗೀತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಕಂಬಾರ ಅವರು ದೇಶದ ಅತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಭಾಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಕೃಷಿ ಮಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವುದು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ.

ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು!
ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾಂಧವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ಉತ್ತರ ಕ್ಯಾಲಿಫೋರ್ನಿಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ವರುಷದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು.
ಈ ವರುಷದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಹಕಾರದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನೀವು ಬಾಗವಹಿಸುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ.
ಪ್ರತಿ ವರುಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರುಷವೂ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ, ಯುಗಾದಿ, ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕೂಟ, ಗಣೇಶನ ಹಬ್ಬ, ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಹಾಗೂ ದೀಪಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸೋಣ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಅಂಕುರ (ANKUR Business and Entrepreneurial Forum) ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಘಗಳೊಡನೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಅಭಿಲಾಶಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ ೨೯ ರಂದು ಪಾಲೊ ಆಲ್ಟೊದ Gunn High School ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಪ್ಪದೆ ಬಂದು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿ ವಿನಂತಿ.

On behalf of the executive committee of KKNC, I wish all of you a very happy and prosperous New Year!
Let us all work towards this goal for all Kannadigas.
We would like to have a variety of events and programs throughout the year. Let us look forward to celebrating Sankranti, Ugadi, summer picnic/sports day, Ganesha festival, Karnataka day and Deepavali. In addition, we will feature few more events like ANKUR business and entrepreneurial forum and collaborative events with other Indian cultural groups.
The first program will be Sankranti celebrations on January 29th 2011 scheduled to be held in Gunn High School in Palo Alto, CA. Preparations are underway to entertain you. We need your active support and attendance for this program and for events throughout the year.
